If you love shoes and art, this will be your ultimate heaven.

LED screens transform the Galeria Melissa entrance into a blue water world and let the visitors dive into the summery pool world of Jeremy Scott instantly. Giant inflatables such as cute teddy bears and hearts welcome you to this fun place.

But the best thing awaits you if you follow the stairs down: A swimming pool full of blue and aquamarine plastic balls with a slide to give you the opportunity to dive in and fulfill your childhood dreams. Nobody can accuse you of being childish here, after all, it’s art

After enjoying yourself in this pool, it’s hard to resist a pair of colourful jelly shoes with bubble gum scent as a souvenir from your Melissa holidays. The selection of Melissa shoes in the Galeria is breathtaking and of course, they have the whole inflatable shoe collection from Jeremy Scott, most models coming with the signature air nozzle. You will leave happily with a bag full of plastic dreams.

Do you love clothes and movies? Then the exhibition about the iconic costumes from film, TV and theatre by Angels in London will be your heaven! Over 100 carefully selected costumes, including many from Oscar® winning films are exhibited and tell the story behind the world’s longest-established and greatest costume house.

Angels was founded by German tailor Daniel Angel. He moved to London in 1813 and began his business with a secondhand clothing shop. Daniel Angel was a pioneer in the hire business and one of the first costumiers that borrowed actors clothing for auditions. Until nowadays, Angels has been supplying costumes for the entertainment industry for 175 years – and seven generations of family history.

So it’s no wonder the list of names of films they were involved is long and impressing : Star Wars, Titanic, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Elizabeth, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Shakespeare in Love, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, A Clockwork Orange, Dr. Who and Gladiator are just a very few of the many well-known titles. The exhibition takes the visitors on a journey through Victorian London up to the present day.

Every costume has it’s unique story, and you can have a glimpse behind the scenes. You’ll find many original costumes and some not less impressing recreations. Some costumes had to be recreated due to their use – for example the original costumes for Titanic didn’t survive the filming. To maintain authenticity the actors – and with them the costumes – were immersed in water for days. There are many interesting facts like this to find if you just dive into the world of Angels.

This exhibition is a visual feast; you will feel very close to a few of your most beloved movies and their stars. It’s a very strange feeling to stand only a few centimeters from costumes worn by Cate Blanchett or Heath Ledger, almost like being part of the stories seen at the cinema. If you have the chance, you shouldn’t miss this!

Yay, my next London shopping trip is coming closer. This means meeting all my beloved friends, eating at my favourite restaurants and of course MASSIVE shopping. I am well prepared and already have a few things on my wish list:

This is a sneak preview of my London shopping. If you have seen my London Wish List, you might ask why I didn’t go for more from the list. Unfortunately, most items where sold out at all or not available in my size. The only thing I bought according to plan is the laser cut collar from Topshop (left corner on the top). I found some other beautiful things instead:

I am a proud owner of two pairs of creepers now. Shiny golden ones from Urban Outfitters and high wedge creepers bought in Camden. I seemed to have a legwear addiction as well: I bought so many socks and tights, I had to put a “legwear shopping ban”on myself. I don’t show you all of them here, you might see a few of them in outfit posts later.

My best shopping moment I had at Collectif: I transformed myself into a true 50s lady in their changing room. An absolutely divine feeling, like being reborn! I coudn’t resist to buy a hat (top center) and a black coat (bottom right corner). Despite my wish to have a colourful and extravagant coat, after being influenced by Comme des Garcons A/W 2012, I fell in love with this coat. There are dried flowers in the buttons and the cut is perfect for not especially tall girls like me. If you want to feel like a glamorous lady too, I recommend to visit Collectif!

To continue with black temptations: Many fashionistas name Atsuko Kudo, when being asked about their secret fashion dream. I was craving for something from this designer for a long time as well. The London based Japanese designer is specialized in latex couture. Someday I wish to own a Atsuko Kudo dress, for a start I treated myself with gloves and a bow choker. I love latex as a material and I think it doesn’t deserve to be restricted to dingy fetish wear.

Because it was a little bit cold to walk around the whole day in the city, I also bought a cosy jumper from Primark and a pom pom scarf from Irregular Choice (previously seen in this post). Nonetheless I was happy to return to our cosy heated home every evening. I had a wonderful time and dream of seeing London again in spring or summer.

Sometimes you accidentally dial the wrong number, but with this jumper you can’t go wrong.

This shoes carried me around the whole city without itching feet and with lots of compliments.

I’m back with you after a wonderful week in London. We did a lot of fabulous things like visiting the Harry Potter Studios, seeing amazing exhibitions (Tim Walker at Somerset House and Hollywood Costume at the V&A) and going to a concert of El Perro Del Mar. I met all my London friends and this warmed my heart. When we came back my head was full of lovely memories and my suitcase stuffed with my shopping finds.

You can have a little sneak view into my shopping bags later, for now I show you a casual outfit, perfect for a city trip. I wear comfortable shoes for walking around and clothes easy to get off in the changing rooms. In my opinion, casual doesn’t mean plain and without fun and this cat jumper fulfills my wishes. Combining the jumper with gold dot tights, golden shoes and a bright red lipstick add a hint of elegance.

If there is something like a London shoe it must be a creeper! This sparkling version goes very well with my current obsession for frill socks. A lot of people couldn’t keep their eyes of this shoes and I was asked many times where to get them.

I’m happy to be back here and excited about planed future posts, but a little bit sad at the same time. Leaving London always gives me a feeling of loss and it takes a few days to settle in again. What I like most about London are the open minded people. I always feel welcome and free to be whatever I can think of. I got loads of compliments for my outfits in London, while back in Switzerland I often face people laughing about me behind my back (or even worse: into my face). This doesn’t change me, because I am a stubborn girl and stick to my taste, but it’s not encouraging neither. But don’t be afraid: Regular visits to London and your wonderful comments will prevent me from giving in and hide myself behind gray mouse outfits. Let’s keep it colourful and sparkling!

Yesterday there was a documentary about London called “Hallo London” on the German TV channel called ZDF. I was seen for a very, very short glimpse. They asked me on my last trip to London if they might film me as an example of a fashionable girl in East London.

The documentary showed a few of my favourite places like Broadway Market, Brick Lane and the flower market at Columbia Road. I loved, that they focused on the East and skipped Buckingham Palace and the Wes Eend for once. The East is really the place to be and not just for the Olympics!

Let’s walk through the streets of London!

Back from my trip to London I still feel the energetic spirit of this city. I already have secret plans to go there again soon. In the meanwhile, all the little London-things in our flat and in my wardrobe must be enough to brighten my mind.

My whole outfit is very much inspired by London. I bought most of the things I wear on my last trip there. Maybe you already spotted them on my post “A Suitcase full of London”. Just the good austrian socks and my funny lipstick ring are no british treasures.

I think the biggest eye-catcher are the Tatty Devine Eyelash Glasses. Tatty Devine is one of the very few companies I have a close bonding to. I already have a collection of their jewellery and I love to visit their shop at Brick Lane whenever I’m close.

My perfect Sunday in London is to visit the flower market at Columbia Road, have lovely breakfast there and walk towards Brick Lane and the Tatty Devine shop. This time I bought no necklaces, but I was in love at first sight with this glasses. After trying them on I couldn’t leave without them without a broken heart. I think they are just made to go with a sharp and defined haircut as mine. This glasses are very fancy and quirky, exactly what I love. A lot of people ask me about them while I’m wearing them and many take out their camera for taking a picture.

Please, please, let me never break them, I already imagine me with 90, as an extravagant old lady, walking along the Thames and still wearing them from time to time. Maybe they would take my picture then for the Advanced Style blog. I would be very proud and tell them that they keep my powerful London spirit alive.

London, I lost my heart somewhere in a dark little street in the east of this amazing city. I can’t stay away too long and being there feels like an immediate boost of energy. I feel more like being myself while breathing British air and I love how open-minded and easygoing the people are. It always feels like not having been away at all, when I am in the pub with my dear former colleagues or walk around the flower market with my beloved ex-flatmate.

It’s always funny that a lot of tourists in London are asking me for taking my picture. I imagine them showing it at home as an image of a crazy London girl. This time I was even filmed by the German TV channel ZDF for a documentary about fashionable people in the east of London. I was very delighted, especially because the filming took place in my favourite street called Broadway Market. I don’t know if I’ll be seen in this documentary at all after they cut their material, but I’ll keep you informed.

My mind is completely full of the most beautiful memories from our trip. We walked through the city till our feet hurt and discovered many new things. London is a city where you always discover something you haven’t seen before, even after living there for a long time. There is always a beautiful building, a nice shop or a wonderful restaurant you’ve never seen before.

My stylish friend and me shopped a lot. The two girls of us went from shop to shop while our two sweet boyfriends had to be very, very patient and strong to suffer our never-ending haul. Usually I go shopping alone, but together with a like-minded friend it was far more fun. I think I never shopped so much before in my whole life.

The picture above is a little preview of the treasures I found. You will see a few of them in my next outfit posts of course. I’m already looking forward a lot of doing shootings with this new beauties. If you read my London Wish List post, you may have spotted a few of the things from it. Fortunately for my poor suffering credit card not all the things from the list were available or looked stunning on me. But a few unexpected things joined my bags instead. I feel like a completely new girl with all this beautiful things in my wardrobe. What do you think, does this look like a very successful trip to you as well?
