I come from a wild party and walk through the rundown streets past ripped down posters and carelessly thrown away bottles and fast food boxes. The smell of smoke, dust and alcohol lies thick in the air like cheap excitement. Cars make their way through the street in a slightly aggressive way and their drivers feel as if they were the kings of the city. The sun tickles my skin, it’s a strange feeling after the dark of the club with my ears still full of the sound of shrieking guitars.

Don’t worry: In truth, I’m at home like everybody else. Just telling you the stories I imagined when I created this look. As soon as I spotted the blond afro wig I knew it would be part of a retro shooting, just like from a movie.

While the vintage look of the pictures is intended, the fact that people taking pictures outdoors feels like something from a time far away is a coincidence. Do you remember those photo booths with the black and white pictures that smelled like bad eggs when they came out? This one still works and I think it’s one of two still reminding ones in Zurich. Oh if I’d have spent my teenage years in this city, it would know all my stories!

On my knee socks, I have an illustration of Linda and Johnny Ramone, rock n’ roll’s most immortal couple. I am fascinated by the sweet love story between the fashion icon and her rock star. Unlike many other relationships in rock music, this one didn’t just burn bright and fade but was true and lasting love. They’ve been together for 20 years and I love their very retro-looking house full of cool stuff. From seeing their pictures I imagine they had a lot of wild parties there, maybe parties like the one I imagined today…

So here I am: Waiting till going outside is not vintage but the present again and dreaming of my eternal love story, just like Linda’s and Johnny’s: Full of glamour, clutter, but without an end.
