The Goddess Collection of Aimée de Mars’includes seven fragrances, one for each main chakra. The chakras are the main energy centres of the body. The meaning of the word in Sanskrit is “wheel”, and in this collection, a goddess stands for each chakra. Here we talk about Divine Isis, the third eye chakra symbolising trust.
About Divine Isis
Divine Isis is a natural eau de perfume for women with essential oils and spring water from Saint Genou. The fragrance is vegan and 96% made of natural ingredients. It doesn’t contain artificial colours, phthalates, benzophenone, chemical filters, or poisonous ingredients. It contains only organic and wheat-based alcohol. The perfume can be worn in direct sunlight and is also suitable for pregnant women.
Divine Isis is a sweet, powdery fragrance with beautiful floral notes. The fragrance is named after the Egyptian goddess Isis. She was a powerful woman, queen, and goddess of birth, rebirth, and magic. So a perfume named after this icon must be powerful, beautiful and mystical. The fragrance is supposed to increase the wearer’s self-confidence, bring peace and serenity and supports to cope with criticism.
The bottle
The box is very stunning. I love the artwork on it with the ankhs, the eye of Horus and the lotus flowers. The bottle is rather plain and minimalistic, and I’d like to have something on the bottle that reminded me of Isis. A golden top instead of wood could be a tribute to the love for gold of the Ancient Egyptians. On the other hand, the bottle suits a natural brand’s aesthetics very much.
My opinion
My first thought: Does this fragrance represent Isis? The myrrh stands for her role as a goddess that has a myth around herself and is worshipped in temples. I interpret sweet notes like vanilla and tonka as a symbol of her role as a caring mother, giving love and protection to her child.
I also love the story of the founder of Aimée de Mars, who created the brand as a tribute to her grandmother. And maybe the best: The perfumes are natural and inspired by aromatherapy. I think Divine Isis is a beautiful fragrance for every day. It would be cool to have the whole collection and choose the perfume according to what chakra could be necessary for a specific day or blend them. I like all ingredients of this perfume, so it’s no surprise I like it a lot. It could be a tad less sweet, and the longevity could be increased, but I think it’s perfect if you dislike strong and overwhelming fragrances.
