I’m feeling a little bit melancholic, sharing memories from the last event before the isolation started. But it was such a great event, I thought the pictures might cheer you up and maybe remind you there is a world besides your sofa. We just have to be strong, like Frida Kahlo, until it will be at our feet again.

No woman is such an iconic symbol for girl power as Frida Kahlo. Did you know that she was a half-indigenous Tehuana? Therefore it fits very well that she was the theme of the eve to celebrate boho fashion – some of it as well made by indigenous women.

Mama Tierra, Atelier Avanzar, pink maharani and La Galeria Elefante hosted the eve and let us follow in Frida’s steps with showing how fashion can bring relevant topics to the public attention and do good. All labels presented one-of-a-kind-crafts produced with the thought of sustainability.

The event was held in Küsnacht, in a Popup shop called Bohemia, which is sadly closed now like all the other shops. I fell in love with the velvet dresses and kaftans of Galeria Elefante from Ibiza, had my neck hugged by cashmere shawls fit for queens by pink maharani, tried on bags from Atelier Avanzar made in Ecuador and (as always) loved the incredible craftsmanship of the Wayuu presented by Mama Tierra.

Our group of bubbly bloggers dressed up like Frida, had our hair braided by Zopfchopf and enjoyed a generous variety of delicious food by Ché VEGara, Michelle’s Cupcakes and Honold. I think my blogger friend Jesca Li had the hairstyle of the eve with her punkish Frida look.

Until we can all go out and visit real shops again, I think it’s great to buy online from labels with a purpose and this blog post might have inspired you. So be strong and keep your head up, just like Frida!
