Oh, Disney, like nothing else, you shaped my generation’s childhood. Like all the girls, I was under the spell of Ariel’s story and the wonders under the sea. My first CD was the soundtrack of the movie The Little Mermaid. I spent hours rehearsing all songs to the perfection of dolphin music, terrorising my parents.

Now the moment has come: Ariel returns to the theatres — an epic event.

The movie is at the cinemas now, I bet, leaves us bedazzled just as the one from 1989 did. To celebrate this event, I teamed up with Walt Disney to make a childhood dream come true: While Ariel dreamed of being human, I dreamed of being a mermaid. What the girl Sara didn’t even dare to imagine happened: I am a mermaid, a pink mermaid!

What I admire about Ariel is her curiosity and following her dreams. She believes in love, and the impossible doesn’t stop her. Even if her family doesn’t understand, she must make a pact with a deceitful sea witch. Ariel is unstoppable and succeeds in the end.

So you will find nostalgic me sitting at the cinema, humming the lyrics from “Under the Sea” and cheering for my fellow mermaid on the screen. Any other Disney fans here?

Oh, Lisbon, you are such a happy place! I can’t get enough of your energy, beautiful light, good food and lovely people! Let me introduce you to some of my favourite things to do in the Portuguese capital.

Do some vintage shopping at a flea market:
You might discover unexpected treasures at Lisbon’s fantastic flea markets. The Feira da Ladra each Tuesday and Saturday is truly a gem. Get up early and be there right when it opens best.

Feel like royalty at Embeixada:
This is probably the most impressive concept store you’ve ever seen, located in an old palace. You will discover shops brands dedicated to brands with Portuguese origins. If you feel like having a drink: Gin Lovers is at your service in the garden.

Be artsy at LX Factory:
What Camden is for London, LX Factory is for Lisbon! Have a stroll through the shops and studios in the area of an old textile fabric. There is a lot of good food right here too. Best come on a Sunday, because there is a maker and vintage market too.

Have an Asian Fusion dinner at Boa Bao:
You have come to Portugal for Portuguese food, but I promise that the best spring rolls, dumplings and steamed eggplants will not disappoint you. As the menu says: Oh darling, let’s be adventurous!

Have a drink at Lisbon’s most unusual bar:
Pavilhão Chinês feels almost like a museum, but it’s a bar. The decor of various antique collectables, bric-a-brac and random finds is genuinely unique and makes you feel like being in a movie.

Discover the best Portuguese Products:
La Vida Portuguesa has several shops in the city and offers an extraordinary selection of the most beautiful things manufactured in Portugal.

Frida Kahlo has landed in Zurich with a fabulous immersive experience at the new MAAG Light Hall. This world premiere brings the powerful work of the Mexican artist to Switzerland, presented using high-performance video projection and light acoustic effects.

Since I was a teenager I was fascinated by Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) and her surrealistic art. For me, Frida is an immense source of inspiration with her self-portraits and as well a symbol of resilience. Her life was not easy, being in constant pain after a terrible bus accident when she was 18 and giving her heart to a man which whom she had a very turbulent relationship didn’t make it any easier.

But despite all the pain, grief and sadness she experienced, she didn’t stop to create and paint, the opposite: She made suffering an art. Very often Frida even painted in bed and her work became a kind of medicine. The total of her paintings is 144 and 55 of them are self-portraits.

During her lifetime she was in the shadow of her artist husband Diego Riviera, although Frida claimed in her diary that she never could have endured her painful existence without his love, he was in a certain sense the second tragic accident in her life. He had numerous affairs, even one with Frida’s sister and the Stern magazine describes their marriage as an “unholy symbiosis between an elephant and a dove”. Besides art, they also shared a passion for communism and an unhealthy lifestyle with alcohol and drug abuse.

It wasn’t until one year before her death, that Frida had her first and only solo exhibition. However, by the time it happened she was already so sick that she had to be carried in her bed to the opening. Frida became only after her death the most well known Latin American painter and an icon of the feminist movement. The Hollywood movie about Frida’s life starring Salma Hayek in the main role in 2002 gave Frida’s popularity another boost.

I couldn’t have been happier when I heard that The MAAG Light Hall would be showing Frida Kahlo’s work as an immersive experience. This venue is Switzerland’s first permanent museum to show only immersive exhibitions. Frida is the first artist they show and I was not disappointed at all. The opening was a blast with Mariachi music, drinks but mostly: A journey into the exotic world of my beloved Frida full of colours and strong symbolism. I can truly recommend this exhibition and I am curious myself which other outstanding artists will be shown at the MAAG Light Hall in the future.

The exhibition is on from now till 2.1.2022 at MAAG Light Hall in Zurich.

Water is life! If you struggle to drink enough, I help you to change that and give away one Sodanow machine, so you can enjoy sparkling water at home without carrying bottles.

Sodanow is Switzerland’s youngest and most versatile bubbler. The stylish device doesn’t take a lot of space in your kitchen. You can use it for all beverages, even for wine and your own cocktail creations. It’s very easy: Just fill the bottle of your bubbler with tap water, push the button of the bubbler several times and there you go!

The human body is 60% water and our blood is even 90%. Since we constantly lose water it’s important to refill the resources. Water is essential for the kidney and other body functions. Dehydration causes skin disorders and wrinkles. So water is not just essential and healthy, but as well a beauty booster. Health experts recommend drinking between two and three litres of water every day. This includes water you get from beverages and food.

Personally, I think sparkling water is much more fun to drink. I try to avoid PET bottles whenever there are alternatives: They are heavy to carry and not very sustainable. A lot of them end up as waste in the sea, endangering the lives of dolphins, turtles and birds. Therefore, using a bubbler is a good choice for certain reasons.

How to win:
Leave a comment on this post. The winner will receive the Sodanow machine in silver. Please include your mail address so I can contact you if you win.

You have an extra chance to win if you enter on my Instagram too.
Good luck!

The giveaway will end on the 22th of August 2021.
The Winner needs to have a Swiss address.

Oh yes, we do have a lot of those cosy evenings at home right now. Nonetheless, they can feel special; the secret lies in little things such as the light and scent of beautiful candles. For a long time, I have been a fan of the scented candles from Lalique, so let me tell me about their new creations.

Inspired by the alchemy of perfumery, jewellery and crystal-making, the French luxury lifestyle brand Lalique created new olfactory stories, fusing natural and molecular ingredients. René Lalique, who founded Lalique in 1888, was a true innovative spirit, and till today Lalique is determined to keep this spirit alive.

Les Compositions Parfumées is an exclusive collection of three high-quality candles. Each inspired by a scent from Lalique and offered in a sleek white glass with the golden logo.

The inside of the glass reveals that Electric Purple, Pink Paradise and Sweet Amber are made of wax matching their colour. Electric Purple is a sparkling berry chypre, Pink Paradise a fresh breeze of musk with woods and Sweet Amber a whirlwind of delectable petals. Three colours, three emotions. Three stories.

If you are the proud owner of one of the perfumes, you can harmonise your home fragrance with it. Let it burn bright and bring beautiful light into the dark. The Lalique Les Compositions Parfums candles are made to scent your work with colour and emotion.

Available at lalique.com or at your Lalique shop.

Christmas is not just the time of gifts, but also the time of writing: Take out your favourite pen and write a few beautiful words to your loved ones. Oh, you don’t have a favourite pen? Well then, I hope it’s your turn to win the Caran D’Ache 849 PopLine ballpen in my signature colour: A bright pink.

Letters and cards are like hugs, making people feel warmth and comfort. Especially since more and more things have become digital, a handwritten letter or card became something precious and rare. Whenever I receive one, I feel very happy and usually keep it in a special box.

The Caran d’Ache 849 PopLine ballpen is not just a pen; it’s a stylish flashy statement. This pen will not get unnoticed with its spectacular neon pink. 2020 is the year of replacing restaurant visits with being your own chef! I don’t know about you, but I stocked up my kitchen tools during the home office days. Since the weather got colder, warm soup has become my power weapon for lunch and there are endless variations of soup cooking in my pots.

I find cooking quite relaxing and believe that eating well is very important. You can use as many face creams as you want and do yoga all day: If you don’t eat well your body will not be happy and healthy. As a vegan who is not a big fan of convenience products, I am very creative with vegetables. I try new ways how to cook them all the time and see it as a challenge to explore new tastes and ingredients. Cooking is more fun in a well-equipped kitchen and this is why today I wanted to tell you about my newest toy: A blender for a better food preparation experience.

The new Braun Multiquick 9 Hand Blender is a powerful tool. It has a technology called SplashControl that keeps your kitchen free of stains and its unique blades move up and down. This means mashing things just got easier and more effortless. Even harder ingredients have no chance against the Braun Multiquick 9.

My first test result was a very silky carrot ginger soup without any bits in it. I love the futuristic design of the blender since I believe even kitchen tools need to look cool to enjoy working with them. Despite the SplashControl, I managed to make stains on my clothes, but it didn’t happen during blending. I just have this talent to spill things…

So kitchen here I come, thinking about more soupvariations, making my own almond milk and vegan pesto. Yummy!

In times like this, travelling has become a true luxury, and my excitement couldn’t have been bigger to spend a few days in Berlin. It was a wonderful outbreak after being at home for most of the year. I was craving for new inspiration, impressions and adventures.

It was the first trip for years when I wasn’t sleeping on the plane. Being in the air has a very calming effect on me, and most of the time, I sleep before the plane even takes off. I used to fly a lot, but this year a lot of things changed. Due to the pandemic, a flight was suddenly something special and rare, so I wanted to enjoy it with open eyes.

My friend Greta and I said goodbye to Zurich and looked forward to a few days of wonderful food, shopping, museums and fun. I think we were both filled with gratefulness for being able to travel in those strange times.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Tukadu, the quirky jewellery shop whose face I am since a few years. The shop is full of quirky jewellery dreams, and the owners Til and Roberta are the most wonderful and creative people. I am very proud to look at the people of Berlin from their shop facade. Spending a while sitting in their shop window as a living doll was a thrilling experience too, and of course, I couldn’t leave without a few treasures.

Til organised a tour with an old-timer and Mr Pixeldealer for us, so we saw the Brandenburg Gate and a few other hotspots while being dressed in the metallic coats we bought during our shopping day. Of course, I was wearing jewellery from Tukadu, and I picked the biggest pieces as always. The darker the times, the brighter the shine a girl tries to spread!

2020, you are really a tough cookie and hard to swallow, but this was good. Thank you very much for those few days at another place and for letting me feel the missing freedom and lightness for a while.

Almost everything is more beautiful in pink, but healthy teeth are best in white and clean! With their new limited edition, Curaprox makes it possible to reach that goal using their ultrasoft pink toothbrushes and support Pink Ribbon Switzerland at the same time. This is what I call pink power!

The ultrasoft CS 5460 toothbrushes from Curaprox are incredibly gentle to your teeth and gums yet efficient. With their exceptional cleaning power, they prevent your teeth from brushing damage and are a strong enemy against plaque. There is no escape from cleaning for their ultrafine bristles and the compact, slightly angled head.

Not convinced yet? Then look at them and you must admit: Those are the cutest adult toothbrushes you’ve ever seen. Now they are coming as a limited edition set of six shades of candy pink in a box. It’s not just big love for your gums, but as well for your eyes. Pink, the colour of feminity, optimism and empathy is my favourite colour and if we have that in common you must be thrilled too.

From every box sold, Curaprox donates CHF 10 to Pink Ribbon Switzerland, to support the fight against breast cancer. A very important topic, since 6000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Switzerland. This shows that Curaprox is not just dedicated about oral health, but health in general and with buying this box you do a good deed too.

Convinced? Then think and act pink!
