You do not see double: I am two Lolita (or almost three)! No, they are not standing next to each other holding hands and wearing both the same like the twins in Shining. Both are one: I am twice (or even close to three times) the age of sweet teenage Lolita from Vladimir Nabokov’s book, but still, in love with heart-shaped glasses!

Just like the novel about the middle-aged professor and his obsession with a young girl is a classic, me wearing heart-shaped glasses is. I had my first pair when I was probably four or five. My mother might have bought them in a souvenir shop during our family holidays, I can’t remember for sure. What I do remember is how proud I was and how I liked to wear them.
Nowadays my latest pair has a Saint Laurent tag on them, and I couldn’t but fall for their retro-cat-eye-chic. I was on the hunt for them for a long while and so lucky when they were finally mine. There are so many fakes popping up everywhere, but I wanted the Saint Laurents, the real thing. I think they are a wonderful pair with this luxurious red cashmere coat from Swiss label M.Luna and the cute Hello Kitty shoes. A playful cute look, but as well with a grown-up air of luxury and good craftsmanship.
Next season, heart-shaped glasses might be so out of fashion, but I’ll stick to them. They are an essential part of my style and I’ll never grow too old to wear them.
The number of Lolitas inside of me might keep growing, but that’s ok!

Yesyesyes! Finally, I am back doing what I like best: Styling looks and thinking about accessories, makeup, and locations! Today it’s all about red and pink, the most controversial colour combo on the planet and my absolute favourite.

When I planed my blog schedule for December, I was very excited about all the giveaways, because I wanted to give you something back as a thank you for all your support, comments and love. My blog was very busy during the festive season, but it left me with no time for outfits, and I missed it like hell. Ok, it spared me from freezing in the cold while taking pictures, but not even being in Antarctica could stop me any longer.

I am roaring like a tiger, as hungry for fashion as ever! Always eager to show you all the treasures I gathered and share my latest discoveries. That much I can say already: Good things are coming.

While you read this, williwaw Sara is already editing another look, smiling at the screen with happiness. I just belong here, and it’s lovely you found your way into my colourful world as well 🙂 Have a happy New Year and let’s colour 2018 together!

Dying my hair pink was the death of red lips for quite a long time. Today the phoenix rises from the ashes; red is back, and it comes with a bang! It’s something very special to combine these colours together: Nonetheless, they are very close on the colour wheel; their mix has a bad reputation. For AW14 many designers – such as House of Holland, Valentino or Dior – showed us otherwise and clashed pink and red.

The secret behind this combination is just to make it look bold, so everybody knows it’s a deliberate colour fusion and not an unfortunate accident! Today I include baby blue as well to unite both classical children’s room colours in one outfit. The skirt was an impulse purchase on my last short trip to London. I just had an hour left till I had to go to the airport, so you saw me running up and down the streets like a mad chicken.

Last week I went to see the fashion show of Vivetta, today I’m wearing a cardigan from their previous collection. I just adore the Italian label for its girliness, the touch of sweetness and their ability to create statement pieces. Seeing on red carpet pictures that shoe goddess Charlotte Olympia wears the same cardigan makes me even prouder of owning it. Next time, I’ll have her shoes as well…

What do you think about the combination of pink and red and how do you like this look?

But dance into the night with my first flock shoes from Melissa.

Boom! Here I am with a new outfit post. I am so, so, so addicted to Lazy Oaf. For a long time I wanted this dress, but restrained myself. I am a shopping addict without doubt, but even I have limits and there are already many pieces from this shop in my wardrobe. But when I saw the dress on sale, all the good intentions were gone instantly. What shall I say? I love it and it’s really causing big badaboom explosions of fashion happiness.

Jewellery from delicious Australian label Eat.Me.Do completes the look. Gummi bear and squid, nice menu, isn’t it? Do you say “Yuk”? Exactly, this is what is written on my back. I discovered this patch on Instagram and couldn’t get the word Yuk out of my head anymore. I sewed it onto a vintage denim jacket, which was a little bit boring on it’s own. The patch turned it into a cool piece again. I might add other patches in the future.

Have you ever seen the movie Cloud Atlas? You really should, it’s a brilliant movie and unlike anything else I’ve ever seen on the screen. Why is she talking about movies now you might ask. Simple, because of a very special scene in this movie: There is a restaurant in a futuristic city called Neo Seoul. All the waitresses are Asian girls with a bob haircut and the same outfit. They wear the Melissa Patchuli shoes, just like I do in this post. I think I made funny noises of excitement in the cinema, when I saw all this girls with this wonderful shoes. It was the first time ever I spotted Melissa shoes in the cinema and this shoe is connected to the movie forever now. I wish they had Lazy Oaf dresses too…

What do you think, does this outfit make boom?

My Outfit:

Dress: Lazy Oaf, Shoes: Melissa, Jacket: Vintage. YUK Patch: Yuk Clothing, Sunglasses: H&M (not recent), Tights: Sorry, I can’t remember, Bangle: Eat.Me.Do, Gummi Bear Brooch: Eat.Me.Do

Thanks a lot to My Style Hit for my Lazy Oaf Dress. Lovely thanks to Eat.Me.Do for the brooch and Yuk Clothing for the patch.

Today it’s time for a lot of pink – fifty shades of pink.
Not just flamingos have pink wings, but my backpack too.
Isn’t this the sweetest colour ever for a name necklace?
Mister flamingo thinks so too and nods.
Gosh, I feel like in a world full of candy floss.
Everything is bright, sparkling and cute.
This is probably the only backpack I will ever consider as absolutely stunning.
A barbie dream come true with the cutest wings.
This shoes are described as “Hipster mermaid shoes”, I agree and love them.

Whenever I travel by bus or train, I spot many copies of the book “Fifty Shades of Gray”. I haven’t read it and I certainly never will, but every time I read the title it makes me a little bit sad. I imagine all this shades of gray next to each other and think, how much more beautiful fifty shades of any other colour would be. Fifty shades of gray sounds like a lot of boredom to me and like the complete absence of every excitement. When I put on today’s outfit with all it’s shades of pink, the title “Fifty Shades of Pink” popped into my mind immediately. Don’t you agree this is far more fun than gray? Pink and orange is a combination I didn’t try very often before, but I like how they enhance and contrast each other.

I am in love with every piece I wear and hope you see it in the pictures. What on earth can beat holographic shoes, a winged backpack and a flamingo bodysuit together in one outfit? My look is inspired by the creative outfits of the girls in Harajuku. I think especially the shoes and backpack express the cuteness of this kind of style very well. The first time I saw this backpack was on a Tokyo style blog and since then I couldn’t stop thinking about it, till I could call it my own.

From now on I wear my name around my neck. This name necklace was a very sweet unexpected gift from Sugar & Vice and since it arrived I don’t know how I could have been without it. I love the colour of the perspex and maybe with this people will finally understand that my name is spelled without an “h” at the end. If it doesn’t work, I don’t mind if people just remember me as the pink candy floss girl instead. Now you have to excuse me, I need to spread my wings and discover a few fluffy clouds.

What do you think about this outfit my lovely readers?

The Easter weekend is approaching with big, fast steps. Are you looking forward to a few days with your friends, family and chocolate? I can’t wait to have a little bit of time to relax and see some of the most lovely people I know. The weather seems to get a little bit better, at least there is a hint of sun already today and I can’t spot snow anymore. Maybe it will be possible to hide the Easter gifts outside.

This is the outfit, I would love to wear, for a chocolate bunny hunt in the garden. Aren’t the shoes from Irregular Choice  unlike any other shoes in your wardrobe? My heart is melting while seeing so much cuteness. The dress from Romwe matches them perfect, it’s sweet and romantic with the beautiful lace and flower print. The trim socks bring even more attention to the shoes and the gloves complement the print of the dress.  If there is something to celebrate, buntings can’t be missed of course. In my outfit, they are in the form of a beautiful perspex necklace from Tatty Devine. If Easter turns out as sunny as we all hope, the heart shaped glasses are the perfect choice, to complete the look.

I wish you a happy Easter, a lot of chocolate and I do hope you like my Easter outfit.

Chic in Zurich, Dotti's Vintage, vintage outfit

A few days ago I bumped into charming Andrea from the blog “Chic in Zurich”. She took pictures of me and shows them on her blog now.

“Chic in Zurich” is a swiss street style blog. Andrea is on the hunt for pictures of well dressed people in the swiss capitol. I am surprised how many extraordinary people she finds. Sometimes I have the impresssion that the majority of people here seems to know nothing about the existence of colors. Andrea proves me otherwise. I like the style of her pictures and I’m proud to be on her beautiful blog.

Andrea caught me wearing an outfit I really like: The jacket is from my favourite vintage store in Zurich called Dotti’s Vintage. The Shirt is from H&M and the skirt from Topshop. The necklace belonged to my grandmother. On my feet I’m wearing a pair of my beloved Melissa shoes. You have seen the heart shaped glasses in my post “Heart Shaped Glasses Forever”, they are from Asos.
I hope you like Andrea’s pictures as much as I do and I recommend you to visit her blog as well!

Beautiful Lolitas: Lana Del Rey, Marianne Faithfull and Sue Lyon

From my early childhood till now, I’ve always been a big fan of heart shaped glasses. When I was four years old, they were just the greatest thing to have. Nowadays I’m a proud owner of a little collection with many different colors and variations of them.

The most iconic look including this fabulous glasses is of course Sue Lyon wearing them in Stanley Kubrick’s movie Lolita (1962). Even today, heart shaped glasses always remind of her.

In my personal view, the heart shaped glasses had their revival in 2006/2007. They rocked the catwalks from Moschino, to Luella and Blugirl. Many celebrities such as Peaches Geldorf, Britney Spears, Kelly Osborne or Bat for Lashes have been spotted with them. The most memorable impression they made on me during this time was with their appearance in Marilyn Manson’s video to the song “Heart Shaped Glasses”, released 2007. In the video, Rachel Evan Wood is seen as a modern interpretation of a – not so innocent – Lolita.

Heart shaped glasses are hot this season too: My latest version is a simple one with a thin golden frame, just as seen recently on Lana Del Ray. I love them, because they have a classy touch and look less quirky as with a colored plastic frame.

Take a heart and wear glasses like this!
