Happy Easter everybody! I bet you are all eggcited (sorry for the lame joke 😉 ) about the long weekend, colouring eggs and eating chocolate. I am so glad I can finally share this post with you because I barely couldn’t keep it to myself.

As a fan of the art of Jeff Koons, I was intrigued when I discovered shiny metallic chocolate bunnies at the shops that reminded me a lot of the work of the famous artist. Mister Koons had nothing to do with them, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the packaging designer of the bunnies was a fellow Koons lover and balloon dog fan.

When a giant version of the bunnies arrived at my local petrol station to make it look cheerful, I just knew I needed to get my fingers on one for a shoot.

I can’t say if the lady at the checkout had a clear idea of what we planned to do with her bunny, but I am grateful she lent it to us, and we brought it back safely. It must have been quite a view for the pedestrians when my photographer and I walked through the streets carrying this green long-eared giant. No fancy outfit could have topped the amount of surprised looks we got.

And here we are: Sara in metallic bunny land. I felt a little bit like a model in a Tim Walker shoot (yes I know it’s light years away, but still closer than I ever was) in my pastel rainbow dress and with a unicorn on my head. This is how Easter should be, yay!

„Where are the looks of Sara?“ you might have asked looking at post after post without my face appearing. I tried and tried to edit pictures from shoots again, but had severe difficulties to focus and escaped into a world of product pictures.

I am blogging for five years now and never before I felt so tired of looking at myself on pictures. While I don‘t consider myself as a very vain person but happened to become a blogger only for the love of fashion, it was always clear that my looks and I are inseparable connected. After all this is a personal style blog.

But when I had a look at the last looks we shot, I just wished it wasn‘t me wearing those beautiful styles. A rather strange and uncomfortable situation for a personal style blogger.

What got me out of my moody dilemma was this look. I loved to wear the devil top so much and wanted to capture a new wild side of me in the pictures. No more effort to look good, no more worrying about not having the longest legs or an angel face, this time, I played the fashion demon obsessed doll. I danced, screamed and let my pink hair fly through the air. Can you feel the energy in the pictures?

I suddenly felt very free and relieved from the pressure of being more perfect than I am. Thank you silky devil, for awaking a new me. Now I can be brave again and face the pile of pictures on my desk.

If you haven’t heard about the Galeria Melissa in London – Melissa’s first flagship store in Europe – it’s time to change that and go there right away: Until the 15th of June, Jeremy Scott is hosting a unique Pop-Art themed exhibition called “Inflatable Dreams”. If you love shoes and art, this will be your ultimate heaven.

LED screens transform the Galeria Melissa entrance into a blue water world and let the visitors dive into the summery pool world of Jeremy Scott instantly. Giant inflatables such as cute teddy bears and hearts welcome you to this fun place.

But the best thing awaits you if you follow the stairs down: A swimming pool full of blue and aquamarine plastic balls with a slide to give you the opportunity to dive in and fulfill your childhood dreams. Nobody can accuse you of being childish here, after all, it’s art 😉

After enjoying yourself in this pool, it’s hard to resist a pair of colourful jelly shoes with bubble gum scent as a souvenir from your Melissa holidays. The selection of Melissa shoes in the Galeria is breathtaking and of course, they have the whole inflatable shoe collection from Jeremy Scott, most models coming with the signature air nozzle. You will leave happily with a bag full of plastic dreams.

Thank you very much for the fun we had in the swimming pool Jeremy Scott, we will remember whenever we wear our new shiny shoes!

Why does my body keep me from flying? I don’t know.

Warning, this is no happy post. It was Fashion Week in London and Sara was not there, what a tragedy! I caught myself haunting the Instagram accounts of all the luckier people and got depressed and jealous. Then I was ashamed of my nasty feelings, just wanted to hide in my pyjamas and eat a whole bar of chocolate.

Forget about the modern world where it doesn’t matter where you are because of the internet. It’s just nonsense and nearly impossible to be part of the world I feel I belong to while being far away. I feel like a cheated lover when I see my favourite brands collaborate with others while my mailbox is empty. Oh wait, there are invitation emails coming in. Ah yes, Oktoberfest, the release of the ugliest shoes I have ever seen (maybe made for attending a desert expedition) and parties with (so-called) Swiss celebrities I never heard of before. Delete messages. Ok, empty mailbox again. Where are the good news? Cinderella is waiting for an invitation to the ball!

I am starting to doubt everything. What am I doing here? Am I not good enough? I take unlikes personal and I’m very self-critical. People tell me that I’ve come far with my blog, I just see competitors miles ahead of me. I’ve always been the girl that wanted more and there are times when it’s almost eating me up.

As a teenager, I often felt in the wrong body and saw it as a cage that limited me. I questioned everything and didn’t just take things as they were. Although those emotions calmed down a little bit during the years, I still don’t take things for granted. What keeps me from flying? Am I not likeable enough, too old, too fat, not pretty enough, not intelligent, funny, happy, cute, determined, whatever enough? Do I overestimate myself? Why am I not happy to be just one in a million of unremarkable people? A lot of questions and no answers, I feel like sleeping.

Tomorrow I want to find back to optimism and start to believe that the world will be mine one day, I’ll go upright and proud, just like Cleopatra.

So take care, the leopard will not forgive frailties.

“Katy Perry, Katy Perry” are the children on the streets shouting after me. I glower and just want them to stop. Me is me, and I’m not copying anyone and certainly not Miss Perry. She is gorgeous without any doubt, but it’s still an insult to characterise a stranger as a copy of the only pop star with a quirky taste they know.

To vacate the rumour about me being Katy once and forever from the world, I collected ten (fun) facts that will prove everything. Read, be convinced and have fun!

1. Couldn’t find Jeremy Scotts number when I wanted new Moschino goodies.
2. I used to be an acolyte as a child, but I didn’t sing (the church goers may thank me).
3. I met Russell Brand at a museum, but he didn’t seem to know me. Strange, isn’t it?
4. I didn’t kiss a girl, not even Whoopi Goldberg I swear.
5. There is no Barbie doll that looks like me yet. What a shame!
6. Katy and I share a love for fruity looks. But I bet YOU too!
7. Can’t find my peppermint tattoo, I already checked twice.
8. When I asked my mother about her date with Jimi Hendrix, she asked, “Jimi what?”
9. Katy gave up on her pink hair quite soon. I stay true to my candy floss mane as you see.
10. If I were Katy Perry, I didn’t have to google to get this post done, don’t you think?

So what do you say now and how do you like this look?

Originally, this would have been my Friday Favourites post, but sometimes things turn out a little bit different and my daytime job kept me from finishing it. Isn’t Sunday the best day for pretty things in any case?
I imagine you, sitting on the balcony, wearing radiant sunglasses and reading this post with your laptop on your knees. Do you feel the summer in your heart when your skin gets touched by warm rays of sunshine? I promise, this summer will be a very sweet one, there are loads of pretty pastels ready to land in your shopping basket. I collected my favourite finds just for you.
Last month in London, I met my very special lilac-haired friend Hanni. She is a big inspiration and I don’t know anybody who lives the pastel dream like she does. Her whole flat is a divine pastel wonderland and she looks like the sweetest candy cane in the whole universe. Every time I see her, I feel the urgent need for more pastels too. So Hanni, this post happened under your influence.
Please tell me what you think about my wish list pieces. Have a happy Sunday and maybe start the week wearing pastels.

Time for a rather unusual outfit post. I just don’t want to style a similar look for the thousandth time. Today I felt like styling a dramatic look, having pictures of New Orleans funerals, American Horror Story Coven, Victorian seances and folkloristic costumes in my head. I have had a lifelong fascination with stories about occultism and just love movies and series with witches, especially if they are beautiful and stylish. Recently, I’m watching Salem, and I’m totally in the mood for the mystical.

I few years ago, vintage was my new wonderland. Since then I’ve become far more selective and don’t go for anything vintage anymore. This skirt is one of the examples I really consider as outstanding. The bird print is just wow and wearing it makes me feel like a piece of art. A skirt like this means that there doesn’t need to happen a lot in the rest of the outfit. It just deserves to be the star of the look.

I think this style is a wonderful look for going outside with my darling. He doesn’t mind me wearing all quirky and rainbow coloured things (and I adore him even more for this), but for a candlelight dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant, even I go for less sometimes. Tomorrow it’s crazy circus again, I already know.

Remember the scene when they burned the witch Myrtle Snow in American Horror Story Coven? Her last word was Balenciaga, what a commitment to style! I am not sure yet what label I would choose because I love so many, but certainly the style of witches rules!

Do you also feel the need for a dramatic style and how do you like this look?

Bunny is leaving: Just continue your search for more chocolate.

Hello lovelies, did you find all hidden Easter eggs and have chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner altogether? To continue a little bit longer with the bunny hype, I styled a look featuring my Bernstock Speirs bunny cap. I’ll wear this bunny cap the whole year, but Easter is the most epic beginning of the age of bunny! Yay!

I am excited to embrace spring finally. Hello blossoming magnolias, days without scarves, taking out balcony furniture and planting herbs on the kitchen sill. I know, I should have got rid of my black opaque tights for a true spring look. Next time, I promise! Too much focus on the legs would have distracted from the highlight on the head anyway: My shiny Bernstock and Speirs bunny cap.

Since I passed their shop at Brick Lane for the first time I dreamed of having one of their hats, especially an iconic bunny cap. I love the mix of casual and quirky. The bunny cap can be paired up with a lot of different of styles, from rather sporty to elegant.

Today’s look is all girly and kawaii. Isn’t the print of my skater skirt darling? This piece by Melbourne-based label Tilly Me just blew my mind. The design reminds me of something that could have been part of a future Moschino collection. Well, bad luck Mr. Scott: Tilly Me was first!

Please excuse me: I’m on bunny business… How do you like this look?

Show me your back: The best looks are lovely no matter from what angle you look at them.

Do you know that feeling when you put on a very special piece, and you just feel very beautiful immediately – closest to the feeling of being a goddess you ever get? While I don’t consider myself as more than average looking, this is what happened when I dressed for this look. The headdress is magic made by the talented hands of my beloved Pearls & Swine, and I fell head over heels for this kimono from Quiz Clothing.

I am playing with the tassels and love how they move in the wind. For once I am even wearing a black dress, do you see? But it wouldn’t be me if I wouldn’t have mixed it with a lot of colours and quirky accessories.

On days you don’t feel good at all, it’s a magical weapon to put on an outfit like this. It might change your day. It also inspired me to the spontaneous act of dying my hair lilac. I love the colour; the only disadvantage is that it turns rather blue when it fades. Because of this I’m going to return to my beloved pink very soon, but for today’s look the lilac was the final touch to add a mystical note to the look.
What do you think about this look lovelies?

An easy to wear look, perfect for visiting possible parents-in-law or for other occasions you want to look like your true self (or at least appear like this is what you are): A very, very sweet and good girl. Because I love style mix, I added non-vintage-style eye-catching statement accessories like my huge Tatty Devine gemstone earrings and the iconic Maison Martin Margiela candy clutch.

I bought this dress while showing a lovely friend some 50s stores in the city. She asked me for help when she was invited to a rockabilly theme party. I promised myself to just accompany her as a consultant. Of course it didn’t work and we ended up buying this dress both of us. I am just so very bad in resisting a pretty dress…

The wind was my good friend during the shooting, it understood my vintage look and helped me to create a true Marilyn Monroe mood with whirling skirt. Sometimes this little unplanned things are just the final touch to a look.
