While most bloggers are taking pictures in front of elegant cafes and in beautiful gardens, I am more attracted by the shaby corners of Zurich as a scenery for my pictures. Rundown buildings scrawly graffiti and dusty corners raise my curiosity to wonder about the stories happening before the beauty faded.

It’s in the dust and junk, where real-life happened and the melancholy of glorious times still lingers, far from stages and affected behaviour. No Parisian chic to be found in the dark but edginess and a past that left its marks like faded scars. If you are not open for this beauty, you might shrug it off as ugly, dirty and dangerous and oversee the hidden. Have a second glance and you might discover the unexpected.

I think shabby corners and cute outfits are a good match with their dichotomy. It’s like the fact that there is no Beauty without the Beast or no Sale without Full Prices. Pastel pink iridescent rainbow shades found their counterpart.

Only after styling this look it occurred to me that it could be a reference to Britney’s Oops! I did it again video from the 90’s with the schoolgirl skirt, the college jacket and the knotted top. I wouldn’t be me if it wouldn’t be more colourful than her version. And I bet good school girls like young Britney didn’t hang around my rough corners 😉

Sara is in Love with… The Sweet Art Museum Lisbon

If somebody had asked how my personal paradise looks, I would have answered like the factory from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but with more pink and candy instead of chocolate.

When I visited Lisbon this month, I discovered that the place I had in mind exists for real: The Sweet Art Museum is a place that encourages its visitors to say “Yes” to happiness. From the moment you spot the pink building, located in a row of grey industrial warehouses, you know: It’s time to enter a dreamlike parallel universe where everything is cute, pink and sweeter than any sweets. It’s time to rejoice for all your girly dreams coming true at once! Forget about dating a member of the Backstreet Boys (yes I know we all wanted that in the 90s), this is the real thing!

Have a bath in the sprinkle pool, get lost in ice cream land or have a ride on the lollipop merry-go-round. This place is Instagram dope and capable of making you feel like one giggling happy girl in heaven, even on a grumpy day. Paradise wouldn’t be perfect if you couldn’t eat sweets on the sly, so almost in every room, you end up with a mouth full of sugar.

If you wanna visit The Sweet Art Museum you should hurry, it’s only there until the end of August 2018. Shhhhh, there are plans the museum might come to London, Madrid or Brasil soon, but don’t tell anybody.

Who is the cutest cartoon character in the universe? Hello Kitty, of course, cause her cute face is everywhere! Did you ever realize that your favourite cat doesn’t have a mouth? Since somebody told me I can’t forget about this.

But maybe Kitty doesn’t need a mouth: She can play the piano, she can be everything she wants to be, and she has her own theme park, train and even travelled to space on her own little satellite. There is nothing Kitty can’t achieve, she doesn’t need to talk but just to follow her heart! Maybe her makers wanted to tell us that it’s what we do and what we feel that matters, not what we say.

As a kid, I didn’t have any Hello Kitty stuff, despite Kitty being around since 1974. Maybe that is why I need to catch up now and surround myself with a big flock of cute white Kittys. Everything from pencil cases to rulers and bowls is just more fun with Kitty’s face on it! Thanks to Blippo I don’t have to go to Japan to fetch my cuties, but they come all to my doorstep.

So darlings, from now on I stay home on my days off, wearing my loungewear while I cuddle with Hello Kitty.

Do you love Asian goodies too?

TADAH: Another Kawaii Box arrived 😀 I just can’t get enough of fresh Asian goodies and needed another dose of cuteness in my life. Every box is curated very carefully, and even if I had a few boxes, it never got repetitive and always makes my day. This box had the theme Thanksgiving Parade, and I received a lovely mixture of stationary, sweets, stickers, hair clips and toys. The main colour of my items was a bright yellow, one of my favourite colours next to pink.

My favourite item is the fluffy seal toy and a soft yellow plush bag. I can use the bag to store little treasures and the toy to… well just to hug it 😉 There are two sheets of stickers included, just in time to decorate my Christmas parcels, yay! A few of the little items such as hair clips, pen and notebook might find their way to a friend.  I am happy to have little treats ready, which is another reason to love the Kawaii Box.

If you are still looking for a gift for lovers of cute things, get them a Kawaii Box subscription! Or win a box for yourself by entering my giveaway. Good luck and stay kawaii!

Yaaaaay another kawaii box arrived! This is my favourite subscription box and it never ceases to surprise me. No, no I’ll never get too old for cute stuff and believe that a girl can never have enough.

I can’t travel to Asia every time I feel the need for some cuteness in my life, therefore I am grateful Kawaii Box delivers their handpicked mix of Asian goodies right to my doorstep. There is no place to far away in the world to receive a box full of happiness.

This time I had 10 cute items in my box, my favourites are a Hello Kitty tin pencil case, a unicorn squishy charm and fruity washi masking tape. I also love the tiny stickers I discovered. I first thought they are nail stickers, but the card told me they are meant to decorate the diary. For only $ 19.90 I think I got a lot of cute things and feel like a little girl in a candy shop. Time to not spice up my life but cute up my life!

Now it’s your turn: Win a KAWAII BOX

Just follow the instructions in the box below to participate and the winner will be chosen randomly. The giveaway is open worldwide. Smile when you receive your Kawaii Box 🙂

The lovely guys from Blippo landed their next cute coup: The Fukubukuro lucky mystery bags. They offer not just one, but six different bags, all generously filled with stickers, magazines, plush toys, candy or stationery items from Asia. It’s your choice for which one you go to join a trend which is very popular in Japan.

Each bag is randomly filled with a mix of at least 15 products from the kawaii warehouse of Blippo. The real value of everything in the bag is about 50 Dollars. The prices start from $ 11.90 and go up to $ 36.90 for the Magazine pack; worldwide shipping is included in all orders.

When my Surprise Kawaii Mixed Bag reached me, I was very curious and couldn’t wait to open it. As soon as I spotted the stuffed pink bag, my excitement got even bigger, because it looked like a candy itself. But the inside was even better: I took out piece after piece of surprises, and it seemed never-ending. Cute plush items, Hello Kitty sunglasses, the most adorable fruit hair clips and two gorgeous luggage tags and much more came out of my bag. The little melon purse already found a place in my handbag, and I will label my suitcase with the lama tag for this summer holidays.

I think I rarely got so many things for less than $ 20 and therefore I can honestly recommend the lucky bags. They are lovely gifts for lovers of everything kawaii as well, and therefore I want to give one as a gift to a lovely reader.

All you have to do is to follow the instructions in the box below to participate. The giveaway is open worldwide. Don’t forget to smile when you receive a parcel from Blippo 🙂

I already had a few deliveries from the lovely people at Japan Candy Box, and I was never disappointed: They arrive very reliable and never fail to excite me with their great selection of snacks, and I just love surprises.

I had ten items in my box this time; my favourites are the rose candy and the Hello Kitty marshmallows. The rose candy doesn’t just taste sweet but is supposed to improve the natural fragrance of the breath and be beneficial for the skin. Can I have more, please? The only thing I didn’t like was a snack that tastes of squid and wasabi. I am very grateful I googled if first, cause I really can’t stand fish, eeeekkkk. But this is part of the fun and makes you feel like a brave explorer.

Now it’s your turn to get a treat! Just follow the Rafflecopter below, and with a little bit of luck, you will soon receive your very own Japan Candy Box. The giveaway is open worldwide. Good luck!

I love the moment of pleasant anticipation when a cute parcel arrives, and I have no idea what’s inside. When I slowly open the box, remove the wrapping paper and discover a sweet surprise from far far away, that makes me happy. The Kawaii Box brings you this feeling every month with handpicked items from Japan and Korea. If you follow my blog for a while, you might know how fond I am of this box and that I think it’s the perfect gift idea for your kawaii friends.

This is already my the third Kawaii box, and I can’t wait for the next. The first thing I discovered is the Pokemon candy, and it disappeared in a few seconds (Oops). Since I love bunnies,  I am especially glad to receive the Rabi-Dango plush rabbit and the glittery bunny stickers.

As a regular client of the kawaii box you are very well equipped with cute pens and coin purses, two things a girl can never have too many. The I Love You purse from this box is already in use to make my life a little bit tidier.

There was a DIY candy set included as well, already my third one, and maybe it’s finally time to try it because until now I was too lazy to figure out what to do with them (the instructions are in Japanese only).

Some of the little things like the Invisible Secret Pen Set or the Harajuku Hair Loops might find it’s way to my godchild because as a godmother you need to have some little gifts ready all the time. Well, in general, it’s always a good idea to bring joy and make your dearest friends and family smile.

Of course, this applies to my readers too and therefore I have something for you too: One of you can win next months Kawaii box. Just follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter below to participate and don’t forget to smile when you receive a box with hearts. The giveaway is open worldwide, so you can all participate.

Good luck and stay kawaii!

Sometimes it’s time to treat yourself and what I like best are Asian sweets with their cute and colourful packaging. It’s already the third time I spoiled myself with a Japan Candy Box and certainly not the last one cause this box brings instant happiness into the daily life. Just continue to read and find out how to get treated with your very own surprise box too.

For those who live on the other side of the moon and haven’t heard of this darling subscription box yet: Japan Candy Box delivers the cutest Japanese sweets and snacks right to your doorstep, no matter where you live. Every month you can look forward to eight to ten surprises. You can subscribe just for a month or choose among different plans up to a year. It’s as well a perfect gift for your kawaii friends, trust me.

Whenever you get a box it’s a little experience: You have no idea what you will find in the beautifully wrapped box. If you don’t have a clue about Japanese letters just as me, very often the kawaii illustrations are the only hint of what snack you have in your hand and the only way to find out is to be bold and put it into your mouth. Most often, the surprise is a new and exciting taste, if not then just move on to the next, cause you have a whole box of things to try 😉

Are you up to try for yourself? All you need to do to win your box is to follow the instructions below. The giveaway is open worldwide, and the winner will receive one Japan Candy Box.
