Tadah! Here comes the second birthday giveaway. Since my last Kawaii Box giveaway got so much love, I thought you’d appreciate another one. On the pictures you see the October Kawaii Box, if you are the lucky winner, you’ll get next month’s surprise goodies. The giveaway is open internationally, all you need to do is to enter in the Rafflecopter giveaway at the end of the post.

In case you are new to Kawaii Box: It’s the cutest monthly subscription box, bringing 10 to 12 handpicked items from Japan and Korea right to your doorstep, no matter where you are. The Kawaii Box can contain toys, sweets, stationary and beauty items.

This is already my second box, but the anticipation was just the same. From the first moment I opened the parcel, I knew this one is going to be fun. I loved the cute stamps and the fluffy plush that can be used as a case best. I’ll use the gift bags for little Christmas goodies and the stickers to decorate post to my godchild.

If you like surprises as much as I do, you should try the Kawaii Box. For all Christmas elves: In case you need a gift for a kawaii friend, this is a perfect idea.

Good luck to all who enter my giveaway!

Bright and Happy: Love the cheerful colours of this look.

This is a look I wanted to show you for some weeks, and I’m happy I finally can. It’s a look I’ve been wearing during my last London trip, and nearly everything I wear comes from this beloved city. I love the cheerful casualness of this look, and it makes me remember a few very beautiful moments. Just what I need, because the last few weeks have been very stressful. A pile of new projects at work, me in bed with a cold for days, the birthday party of my mum, a wedding in the family and to top everything the nightmare of every blogger: A dead MacBook.

I edited my pictures on three different (borrowed) laptops while my precious MacBook was gone and nearly went crazy because the colours looked dramatically different on all of them. I lost a lot of time being annoyed of realising how little control I have over how you see my pictures. If time were an endless source, I would not just shoot one outfit a day for you but as well turn into a technic freak and read everything I could to make my blog as best as possible.

When I saw the documentary about fashion icon Iris Apfel a few weeks ago, I was very impressed by the energy of this woman. Being 94 years old seems to be no reason for her to slow down her pace and come up with new projects. I wonder if she knows those feelings of never have enough time just as well as I do at the moment. My head is full of ideas, but there are just too few hours. But well, maybe still better than the other way round.

I hope you are fine, you don’t see my pictures all bluish or yellowish and handle the busy life with virtuosity. Don’t forget to tell me how you like this look, please.

heart shoes, yin yang shoes, pink and red shoes
Red and Pink: Love the idea of two different shoes.

Somebody said you should be yourself unless you can be a piñata, then you should always be a piñata. I spent hours and hours trying to grow a mane, but nothing happened. Then I decided just to be myself: A rainbow girl. And look what happened: I am so proud of this look because it’s more me than anything else I ever showed you. I look at the pictures and see the woman I’d like to be, what a feeling!

I am so into mixing prints and this playful skirt from Shanghai-based label Celia B is just everything I’ve been waiting for. It’s like a dream to be wearing something from this amazing designer after admiring her things on pictures for a long time. Those clothes make me feel bold. They seem to tell me that it’s ok to dress as quirky as I want and that there is no reason to adapt to the people on the street who most look all the same to me.

This look is just a firework of dream pieces. Just look at my rainbow piñata bag! I never dreamed of owning this Charlotte Olympia bag, but thanks to my crazy boyfriend it’s mine. I love its happy face and sometimes if I don’t feel very good, I just open the pretty box it came with. The delightful piñata smile cheers me up even more than chocolate.

I wish you a lovely next week. I have another piece from Celia B ready to shoot, and I can’t wait to show you soon…

What do you think about this colourful look?

Lena Hoschek, circle skirt, vintage look
“Oh my gosh, I’m wearing a perfect look” or whatever I thought when we took this picture.

Other girls go for a walk and end up seeing deer, I end up coming home with a bag full of designer clothes. A few weeks ago, I just wanted to walk a little bit hand in hand with my darling and before I knew what was happening I was standing in the Markentussi store – a fabulous vintage store. I found myself in their changing room with an armload full of clothes from Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and Moschino.

By pure coincidence, this Lena Hoschek skirt was exactly my size. Don’t you agree there was no way leaving without it? And to top up my luck: The Marc Jacobs (not Marc by Marc Jacobs) jacket very close by seemed to be made for it. Gosh, I felt like the one and only queen of all shopping queens, getting just two amazing designer pieces in one stroke.
I’ve been collecting look books from Lena Hoschek for years but never owned a single piece of this outstanding Austrian designer. Her designs are obviously 50s inspired, but with a very distinctive twist. Quite a while ago, when I was still a poor student, I tried on a few Lena pieces and dreamt of owning something of those treasures.
I might be a few years older since then, maybe have a little less skinny legs and the first fine line on my skin, but I have this fabulous skirt as well. Getting older is so cool when it means that your dreams are coming true! I should go for a walk again, maybe I’ll spot deer then…
Do you also end up doing something you haven’t planned at all and what do you think about this look?
My Outfit:
Skirt: Lena Hoschek Vintage, Jacket: Marc Jacobs Vintage, Bag: Little Sunny Bite, Sunglasses: Miu Miu (slightly different pink here), Earrings & Necklace: Now Or Never

candy box, review, giveaway
Doesn’t taste fishy: Yummy candy fishes.

Those among you with a sweet tooth pay attention: Japan Candy Box is the probably sweetest monthly subscription box on the market. Every month you receive a box filled with eight to ten carefully selected candies, sweets and snacks. From $18.20 you are in to find a mouthwatering parcel in your letterbox.

I found ten treats in my box and already tried everything. There is nothing I didn’t like, and it’s a joy to discover all the unknown things. There is a card with a list of all items included for the ones who want to be on the safe side before putting things into your mouth.

The only thing that was missing to make this box divine and not just perfect: It would be awesome if there were a list of ingredients included. As a vegetarian, I am always cautious of sweets containing gelatine, and I would have loved to know if everything is safe for me to eat.

My graphic designer heart was very excited about the packaging. This is how sweets should be: Kawaii, cheerful and made to make your day.

I can truly recommend this box and think it’s as well a perfect gift idea for your friends. The lucky one getting one will love you forever. And the best: Of course I have to win your love too, and therefore I have next months box to give to one lucky follower. Just enter below, it’s open worldwide. Good Luck!

Thanks to Japan Candy Box for the box and for sponsoring this giveaway.

Melissa shoes, high heels and socks
Every cute look needs jelly shoes and cute socks.

My wardrobe must be the dream of every five-year-old girl: There are boxes full of fascinators, loads of flowers, pompoms and novelty handbags in fruity shapes. Not to forget a whole cupboard full of Barbie-like jelly high-heels.
Some not fashion-conscious people might think I buy my jewellery and cutie-things for a few quids in cheap stores, but they are completely wrong. What an insult! Learn now and forever: There are worlds between cheap crap and quirky perfection. Kitsch isn’t always just kitsch, and there is nothing more exciting than buying the right kind of it. It’s worth every penny to buy something that makes the heart beat faster.
Just because I can spend a lot when I’m excited doesn’t mean that I’m a lavish girl: I am reluctant to spend money on some things, even if they would make my life easier. For example, I’m still using an iPhone released almost in the stone ages. Couldn’t I get a new one instead of craving for another shiny Maude studio bag and an even bigger Pearls & Swine fascinator? Yes, I could, but where is the joy in buying a new phone?  I want to buy something I can stare at for hours because I love it so much.
A new phone doesn’t fulfill the criteria at all: Everybody has one, and they all look nearly the same. It might be faster than the one I have, but it will not come with abilities like an app to create rainbows on the walls of my rooms or an instant glitter-up-my-life function. A new bag has the power to make me squeak and jump into the air on the other hand. So it’s an easy decision how I’d prefer to spend my hard earned money!
I go for things that give me a piece of this -being-in-wonderland-feeling and takes me out of the everyday routine. I think this is what we are all craving for in the end.
How do you like this look lovelies and what do you think about spending money on quirky things?
My Outfit:

Tatty Devine, sequin necklace, colourful perspex
Oh Tatty Devine, you just know what makes a girl feel like over the rainbow…
YRU, rainbow shoes, platform sandals
Rainbow feet may cause a sudden rush of inspiration, let’s try!
While I look like a Carmen Miranda version for beginners (or intermediate if the beholder is generous with me) I don’t have an idea what to write and stare at the screen. A colour bomb, but no explosion of words. Oh hello, writers block, I thought I’d never see you at my doorstep, but after three and a half years of blogging you finally found me. You even brought a gift: An inexistent idea of a topic to chat about, how lovely!

Is anyone interested in the musings of a fashion blogger or are you just here for pretty pictures? Does somebody even realise if I just use dummy text? Let’s make a test: If you read this, comment with “pink poodle”. Anybody? Please, please, please. You’ll be my ultimate hero if you tell me what topics you’d be interested to read about here.

Until then, I continue my search for the words I lost: Does it help to make a handstand? Maybe I better don’t try, shame on unathletic me… Half a day later: I cooked some homemade tortellini, tidied up my flat and repotted plants. Still no single word is written on my blank page, but at least my home benefits from this misery. Can it be so difficult to find a few words? No novel with a 1000 pages required so come on Sara!

The next day: Must have fallen asleep while trying to write something and finally I give up. May the words reappear till the next post. Enjoy the colourful look in the meanwhile and appreciate that I talked rather visually than linguistically.

It’s raining: But just on my cool new shirt no need to get your umbrella.
lightening shoes, topshop glow, metallic sneakers
Alien lights: They don’t just blink when you walk, but constantly shine like a neon sign.

First outfit post after my London trip and I’m wearing a lot of things I bought there. Like every time, I felt so heartbroken after I had to leave my beloved city. I miss my godchild, my girls and all the inspiration and excitement that is in the air of London. The fact that I caught the flu just when we had to travel didn’t brighten up my mood. I spent the first days in Switzerland in bed with a fever. What a welcome!

I am happy I finally feel well enough to show you a few of my new finds finally. There was no way for me around the lightening shoes, not even hearing about their bad quality could stop me. I hope my lights will not go out… It’s quite strange for me to not wear heels because as a rather short girl I love the little bit of extra height they give me. Well, at least there is one heel in today’s outfit: On my bag! Isn’t it cute? It’s made by my designer friends Azumi & David. I love how they combine classic design with a touch of quirk. Besides it’s always best to shop from lovely designers, and they are just one of the most adorable couples I know.

The skirt I’m wearing is from British label Textile Federation. I think I might turn into a collector of their stuff because I am obsessed with their prints. When I saw their pieces first, I was surprised how affordable they are while they look like expensive designer stuff. Later I read that they are not just a studio, but a hub for the best print design talents from all over the world. On their platform, people can showcase print design, and the winning submissions are realised. So every one of their prints is a winner. I couldn’t resist buying a second piece from them which I’ll show you later. I hope you are already curious which one it will be…

What do you think about this look lovelies?

Everybody needs unicorn stickers for sure.

Do you love receiving parcels as much as I do? Standing on tiptoes and checking the mailbox with the feeling of sweet anticipation is just such a great feeling. Because it’s not always Santa’s turn, from time to time a girl needs to order gifts for herself. I love surprises and beauty boxes and already tried a few until I heard of the Lucky Dip Club.

Lucky Dip Club is a subscription box full of cute handmade presents. One of the best things is that each box includes a personalised, unique item. The goodies could include pretty stationary, jewellery, homeware or DIY kits. Every 1st of each month at 7am a new box theme launches and if you would like to grab one you have to be very fast. The theme of the box I received was “Valley of the Unicorns”.

Usually, the boxes sell out in a few hours only. Of course, you can save yourself the troubles and just sign up for a monthly subscription.Unfortunately, they announced to stop international delivery due to thigh costs just after I ordered my first box. So this is for my readers in the UK only. Enjoy this box of treasures!

This is what I found in my box:
– A unicorn brooch by I Love Crafty
– A sticker sheet
– Two little notebooks
– A personalised necklace
– An illustrated postcard
– A label set
– A zine explaining the items in the box and telling about their makers

Costs: One box for £18, monthly subscription £15, six months for £84

My opinion: I loved what I found in my box, and the unicorn brooch alone would have been worth ordering this box. Truly a box full of magic and as well a lovely gift for a crafty friend!
