I read in a fashion magazine that “Bathleisure” is the Instagram trend right now and that Rita Ora invented it last November. when she appeared on the red carpet dressed like she came right from the shower. I laughed out loud because I had some pictures planed and taken before that featuring just everything this “trend” needs. But since I am the slowest blogger on earth I didn’t manage to finish my article before.

For those who don’t know yet, let me explain what Bathleisure is: The word itself is a combination of “bath” and “athleisure”. Athleisure describes workout clothes that are worn lounging around. Bathleisure is a very similar thing, a towel on your head is the star. To style the perfect Bathleisure look you combine your towel with a bikini top, heavy makeup and huge statement sunglasses (or accessories). It instantly makes you look like a true leisure girl and like you are constantly on holidays.

I love it since this is basically what I wear every day before I dry my hair and wearing a towel in my hair makes me always feel like the crowned queen of casual. Stars like Rita Ora, Leandra Medine, Rihanna or Emily Ratajkowski must agree because they are all on the Bathleisure bandwagon. What caught my eyes in their pictures: All of them wear white or rather plain towels and I think my gorgeous pompom towel tops it all. It’s from ZigZagZurich and woven on old looms in Turkey, only in small quantities.

Even if I am more a working girl than a leisure girl, I agree there is nothing more relaxing than a hot bath. It’s my treat after workouts and one of my favourite moments of the week. Recently I discovered the products from t by tetesept and they are my bath buddies since then. No wonder since they smell deliciously of pink orchid and ylang-ylang or (now you have to listen) CHAMPAGNE and PEARLS, I feel like a rainbow version of Dita Teese in a huge cocktail glass taking a bath and finally, it seems pretty comfy to do absolutely nothing for a while.

Recently my Instagram feed is full of cute pins teasing me to get them and they succeeded. So oh yes, a jacket full of enamel pins is what I see in my dreams!

When it comes to pins, there are only two options: Either you don‘t own any or you have a whole bunch of enamel awesomeness in your life. Do you remember collecting pins at school back in the 90s and don‘t know the reason why you ever stopped? Then now is the time for a new start! Instead of collecting Pokémon, go for pins! More fun, no balls and better graphics for sure!

Many cool independent designers and artists started do design pins, and I bet everything cute you can think of from unicorns to flamingos, ice creams, and pineapples come as a pin by now. All you need is to start a collection and basics will be no longer boring when they get customized with pins. Even big fashion labels such as Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and Dior have fallen for pins and helped to elevate the former childish accessories to a whole new level of fashion item. So there is no question: We all need them in our life!

The three icons of fashion and home accessories of the moment: The pink flamingo, the juicy pineapple AND…THE SPIKY CACTUS! 
From Dolce & Gabbana to Topshop, a lot of labels have been inspired by the Wild West and took a new fresh take on it. It‘s been too long since the cactus has been treated as a not very desirable plant. Finally, he has his big moment to leave behind roses, sunflowers, and hydrangeas. This summer’s cactus items are bright and colourful, just right to bring desert vibes into your wardrobe. You don‘t have to be a cowgirl to fall in love with them.
While high street fashion jumped very recently on the cactus trend, a few forward thinking labels started to bring the spiky plant from the shadows into the spotlight years ago: The green plant was one of the stars of the Jeremy Scott SS12 season and many labels from Kenzo to Markus Lupfer went cactus crazy since then. The D&G man AW16 collection stirred the attention for the spiky green fellow even more, and I say now it’s the right moment to bring some cactus into your life too for a tropical style party.

The mermaids must have left their homes hidden deep under the sea and now they are all over the shops. Wherever you look, you will find them, all of them waiting to be a girls treasure.

Mermaids inspire dreams of mystical adventures, they are creatures of divine beauty and enchant sailors and kawaii girls likewise. I suspect the mermaid hype will continue until at least next year because Hans Christian Andersen‘s classic book will appear on the big screen as a live-action movie then (Let‘s hope this one is going to be good one, although Sofia Coppola dropped out as a director).

I already ordered four things featured in this post; this makes it probably the inspiration post with the most Sara-hits ever. If you are curious, feel free to guess what‘s on the way travelling over the wide, wide sea right into my wardrobe 😉

I am only waiting till my parcels arrive and then I‘ll be ready to play Ariel and her fair sisters, cause darling it‘s better down where it‘s wetter under the sea!

A few days ago I told you about dinosaurs invading fashion, I think they came not alone: The robots are here as well. What an encounter! Take a little bit of retro, mix it up with science fiction, don’t forget about a big dose of cuteness, and you get the most handsome mechanical tin men. They look at you with their round shiny eyes, and you don’t want to leave the house without them anymore.

The science fiction lovers among you will fall head over heels for these robots. While you still have to wait for the new Star Wars movie, those fellows could all be yours right now and make your looks robot-astic.

Who said that the dinosaurs are extinct? They obviously must have lied: I don’t know if the dinos have been frozen in thick ice. Maybe they slept in hidden caves behind waterfalls, but now they return to fashion with a lot of reptile power. Maybe the mention of a new Jurassic Park movie this summer has already inspired the fashion designers.

Everybody loves dinos. Did you learn dozens and dozens of dino names and felt like a true explorer talking about them the whole time as a child? I did, and therefore it’s a sweet nostalgic feeling seeing this cool fashion featuring them. Let’s wear them, and the wait for Jurassic Park is going to be over soon.

Growing up in Switzerland included a few visits to dairies when I was at school – how stereotypically! When I saw the enormous copper kettles of the cheese makers, it was probably my first encounter with copper. It was just on the very borders of my awareness until I got in touch with British industrial designer Tom Dixon a few years ago. In my opinion, he is the one who started a new copper hype with his iconic round lamps (bottom left in my picture). Now the hype finally reached the high street.
Copper has a certain warmth which makes it perfect for the cold wintertime. I know what I am talking about: It’s almost a year since I got my very own Tom Dixon copper ball lamp. I still couldn’t be happier about how much the colour of this lamp changed the atmosphere in my whole living room.
This Christmas, copper and its alloys bronze and brass seems to be the hot thing to get: From tree decoration to candle holders, lanterns to tinsel, I spotted it all in the shops. Now is the time to dress yourself and your living room in this warm colour! My selection might help you to achieve this… especially the handbag from YesI’mFrench (bottom right corner) will be the star of every party. Go for it!

Let’s talk about the magic of autumn! Even if you dream of deleting every season except summer from your calendar (just as I do), you have to admit: There is a certain beauty about autumn. No matter how hard we cling to show a bare midriff and leave the house with naked legs, there comes a time when everything on a girl’s mind is to snuggle into a cosy coat. While the leaves fall, the desire for something cosy grows and the need for a perfect autumn look awakes.

So when I was asked by La Redoute Switzerland to style a chic & stylish autumn look, I accepted the challenge. Some of you tell me that they wouldn’t dare to wear most of my looks, so I tried to keep this look very wearable to inspire all of you.

The key piece of my look is the coolest bubblegum coat ever. It’s is a true investment piece and turns every outfit into an eye-catcher. If I could buy just one piece for autumn, it would be this wool coat. It is designed by Jacquemus, a rising star in the world of French fashion. I’ll keep an eye on this label and think this is your chance to buy a true designer piece to a reasonable price.

Since all fashion magazines declare that grey is the colour of the season, this lace skirt is a good choice to go with the dream coat. Nonetheless, I think the city needs some colour, and that’s why I suggest adding berry shades, like this casual top. Everything else you need is a touch of glamour provided by the sequin clutch, and there is no way to avoid these pompom shoes. They don’t only fit perfectly to the top, but they make girls awe.

There you go – the cutest autumn look in the city is ready!

This summer, you certainly can’t be without a kimono! This lightweight piece of cloth between cape, robe and scarf is perfect for festivals, the beach or summer in the city. A kimono instantly adds a free-minded touch to your outfits and it’s easy to wear. It’s rather theatrical how the kimono swings with the wind when you walk, especially if you go for a tasseled version. Art loves fashion and fashion loves art back! Among all the art movements, especially pop art is a never-ending inspiration for fashion. Repeating symbols in flashy colours, comic inspired prints and Warhol’s Marilyn are fashion evergreens. Wearing them makes you instantly feel like a pop art heroine.
