I am mermaid-crazy, not just since they are super-trendy, but it already started in my childhood. I can still sing a few songs from Ariel the Little Mermaid (my first CD ever) and have the movie on my shelf and don‘t care if anybody thinks this is childish. I believe we should never stop dreaming about fairy tales, no matter how old we are.

When I found this cute pastel cardigan it was like a jackpot: If there is anything better than mermaids, it must be mermaid cats! Imagine a bunch of fluffy cats with fish tails having adventures in the sea. Their mighty mercat-king is always swimming ahead with its trident; others play the underwater harp and catch mer-mice. I make strange sounds whenever I see a cat, just thinking about their fish-tailed fantasy relatives makes me giddy.

The baby blue top/dress (not so sure how to call it) is like made for a mermaid outfit: Doesn‘t it look like a siren‘s tail? I shopped this look when I was in London a few weeks ago, and therefore it reminds me of the beautiful days I spent there. I even had a bath in a bubble pool wearing those clothes at the Galeria Melissa (see post here). I was so excited I even lost my sunglasses in the pool. Luckily it was a cheap pair, not my Miu Miu glasses.

Life under the sea isn’t without dangers; every mermaid needs to know…

What is the ultimate look? If you even succeed in finding a surrounding that perfectly matches all your rainbow pastels! What I love about styling is when things finally come together, and there is that tingling in the air telling you it’s going to be a perfect match. Every piece you style into a look is just a piece of fabric, but if you mix them with joy and enthusiasm, you can create a beautiful composition. Styling is like music to me: Every tone needs to be right for a perfect melody. The air seems to hum if you achieve this.

Sometimes I play with a particular style for days in my thoughts till I believe that everything is the way it was meant to be. I imagine how an outfit would change if I choose just a different accessory or try an entirely different colour palette, always with the goal to find a balance between harmony and tension. This is the difference for me between being dressed in a merely functional way to avoid being naked and styling.

Making outfits can almost be like inventing characters for a fictional story: I can be the dreamy pastel princess, the elegant vamp, the funky retro girl or the sporty chic. You will judge me by what you see, but because I change day after day, your judgement might be heavily influenced by the day you meet me. The outfit can be the killer or the hero of the story.

Fashion, I love you so so much, you are my favourite playground. I hope you can feel the excitement I put into this look as well lovelies!

Princess ready to conquer the world with pastel power.

Every girl dreams of being a princess, of living in a castle, having a room full of pretty dresses and dancing at balls with the handsome prince of her dreams. You did so too, and your dream hasn’t come true? Well then, maybe it’s time to rethink!

Carrying this princess feeling with you all the time hasn’t to do with possessing an awful lot of money, but with attitude. Close your eyes and think about what small or bigger dreams you could make come true just in the last few months. One, two, three, four… Oh, you are still counting? Great! Do you realise how far you’ve come? You must agree it’s a reason to be thankful for and proud of yourself.

Now the only thing you need for your princess day is just to dress like one. No matter if Belle, Arielle or Cinderella, each princess has her signature look. People very often say that you need to dress for the job you want and not the one you have. I agree and say it’s princess time.

I chose this fairylike skirt and a flower crown for my princess look today and became the ruler of a tropical flamingo kingdom. I managed to include two of this summers trends in one look: Tropical prints and metallics. Great isn’t it? A day with an outfit can turn out nothing else but splendid. Just never let others tell you to grow up, dress serious and stop dreaming!

How do you like this look lovelies and what makes you feel like a princess?

Originally, this would have been my Friday Favourites post, but sometimes things turn out a little bit different and my daytime job kept me from finishing it. Isn’t Sunday the best day for pretty things in any case?
I imagine you, sitting on the balcony, wearing radiant sunglasses and reading this post with your laptop on your knees. Do you feel the summer in your heart when your skin gets touched by warm rays of sunshine? I promise, this summer will be a very sweet one, there are loads of pretty pastels ready to land in your shopping basket. I collected my favourite finds just for you.
Last month in London, I met my very special lilac-haired friend Hanni. She is a big inspiration and I don’t know anybody who lives the pastel dream like she does. Her whole flat is a divine pastel wonderland and she looks like the sweetest candy cane in the whole universe. Every time I see her, I feel the urgent need for more pastels too. So Hanni, this post happened under your influence.
Please tell me what you think about my wish list pieces. Have a happy Sunday and maybe start the week wearing pastels.

Fluffy monster wishes you a happy day. Stay cosy!

I am such a happy bunny! I won the most amazing fake fur coat on the Lazy Kat blog. I bet with this coat I would be the dream monster of James P. Sullivan from the movie Monsters Inc.. There is already a little funny story to go with it: In the bus a little girl sat next to me and eyed me shyly. Suddenly she took heart and asked me if she might stroke my coat. Hilarious, don’t you agree?

I don’t understand why people tend to dress boring in winter. I often study the outfits of the people while travelling by train. Recently I ended up being the only colourful girl in a crowd of black and grey not just once. This makes me sad. I can’t believe that all those people don’t dream of being more exciting than a dark down jacket.

One of my goals for this year was to have no bad outfit days. I didn’t succeed completely, but I think there was almost no day with just a plain and boring look and no all-black look at all. Let me think about a while about my fashion goals for next year. I want to go further on my journey, and I’m happy you are here. Have a happy Christmas my lovelies, you are the best followers I could imagine!

Yay, I have the perfect coat! Finally, I managed to turn myself into a walking candy floss, all fluffy, pink and yummy. Words can’t explain how much in love I am with my oversized wool coat from ultra cool French label Jacquemus.

According to designer Simon Porte, the typical Jacquemus girl is very French and never wears makeup (Source: interview with Harpers Bazaar). This is not me at all, but hey: I am my very own and different version of a Jacquemus girl, maybe unlike anything the designer has ever imagined while designing his pieces.

Today’s look is not just about the coat but as well about the sunglasses. I was looking at those Miu Miu sunglasses forever, trying to convince myself that I don’t need them. It worked quite well for weeks, but as you see there was no final escape… They are pink, they are with glitter, how could I say no to them? This purchase made me realise that 2014 was the year of me discovering a designer label taste. Quite a few luxurious pieces moved into my wardrobe during the last months. One of the highlights is my pink Mulberry Bayswater bag, which I didn’t even style to a look for you yet. I still believe a girl shouldn’t buy big labels because of the power of their names. If they manage to excite, it’s fine to fall in love for sure…

How do you like this fluffy look?

And finally, after a long week, the moment you all anticipated is here: It’s Friday, yay! Here is something to keep you pink & happy.

Every now and then, somebody declares that either orange, gray or blue is the new black. I don’t think there is such a thing as one colour replacing a colour, but pink has been my personal black for quite a while. I recently love to combine different shades together, and I just love my pink hair. I can’t imagine to be blond again at the moment. I’m rather a pink candy floss from head to toe, dream a fluffy fake fur, surreal accessories and everything fluffy and cute.

I am very excited for the weekend; there are shoots planed and I am excited to prepare my next giveaway for you. Stay tuned, the secret will soon be revealed. I just love to bring a little bit of cuteness into your life. Happy weekend lovelies!

Please don’t forget to tell me, what you like best from my favourites!

Long legs for tiny girls: Platforms, please!

Cute, cuter, the cutest, my outfit! Oh yes, I try to fit as much Kawaii in my outfit as possible. Bubblegum pink is my colour therapy, candy floss my philosophy. A few years ago I tended to dress black or gray, whenever I had a difficult time. Nowadays I think that’s completely the wrong thing: Colours (and especially pastel colours) are an astonishing antidote against dark moods. Don’t underestimate the power of cuteness!
I especially love this outfit, because it contains many things that make me smile. Making soap bubbles during the shooting was just too much fun. I nearly emptied the whole bottle, because I couldn’t stop anymore.  I didn’t do this for ages and was fascinated by how wonderful the bubbles look in the light. Isn’t it amazing how beautiful something as simple as soap bubbles can be?
Today’s look includes the fulfillment of a dream: A while ago, I spotted this pink hair collar on a page. I didn’t know who designed it or where to get it, but it was love at first sight and never left my mind. A few months later I was introduced to a lovely French girl called Clara Chérie and was so surprised to see it on her page again, among a lot of wonderful creations. I begged her that I needed to wear this, and here it is on my neck. Dreams don’t burst like soap bubbles all the time, but sometimes they come true in Barbie land!
What are your fashion dreams come true my lovelies?

Yay, it’s weekend, finally! I can’t tell you how much this makes me jump from joy. I just want to sing, dance in circles, drink Pimms and laugh about silly things while wearing my biggest fascinator and killer heels.
This week seemed never-ending and very hard: I left London again and still feel so heartbroken. I just love this city with all my heart and hate this exclusion from my personal paradise. As well I was buried under a sky-high pile of work at my daytime job, and there was no time left to prepare everything I intended to do for you. It stings and feels like disappointing you.
What helps more to brighten up a dark time like this than looking at beautiful things? I wish that my favorites of the week let your eyes shine, just as they did with mine. I already bought three of the things. Maybe you can guess which ones, you clever things?
Have a happy weekend lovelies and keep your eyes open for everything pretty.

Dreamy Mood: Pastels are definitely good for my mood.

Probably the only moment in life when everything is blank is the second after birth. In this single instant, everything is open and possible. Later on, you start realizing that you have to make millions of decisions, every minute, every second. A lot of them are very simple ones – like where do you want to have lunch or if you prefer the cinema or the art museum.

Sometimes even those decisions have unexpected side effects: Taking the tube instead of the bus could lead into meeting an amazing person that will change your life. Who are you, who am I, but a mishmash of millions of decisions? Thinking about all this data you have to deal with, the human brain appears as a super computer, doesn’t it?

People are born into a specific culture and with their very own unique skills. Knowing what we can’t and can sometimes provide the feeling of just following the path of what was given to us. I say this is just one page of the story. You are your very own artist, constantly choosing colours and painting your life story.

Decisions close doors and open new ones. Don’t underestimate them, not even the apparently simple ones. I choose to wear my pastel kimono today; this might change your opinion about me. Maybe you are here for the very first time, and your impression about me has been made according to this look. I believe that my day could have turned out differently with another outfit. Maybe not significant, but just a little.

I wonder what adventures the kimono will bring me today.
My decision of the day: I don’t say no to any colour, but just wear them all.
