Chunky sandals and cute socks: My choice for this summer.

A sea of flowers and me in the middle. Today’s look is an overload of everything sweet. For one day, I leave the edginess at home and dress up like nothing bad could ever happen in my pink Barbie world. You could say that the outfit is an union of all childhood dreams you can think of in one single look. Girl, never leave the house without your cute socks and always wear the biggest bow you can find! Didn’t mommy tell you this when you were young? Mine didn’t, but it’s never too late to learn… 😉

Every spring and summer floral fantasy is back in fashion and it never ceases to amaze. There is nothing as feminine as a blooming affair from head to toe. The dress I am wearing is from the Miss Lovett SS14 collection. It’s very easy to wear, comfortable and I love the material and pattern mix. Like everything I own from Miss Lovett, it just fits me perfectly.

During the shooting, a cyclist mistook me for a doll and nearly fell from his bike when I moved. No sir, I’m no plastic, but your shocked face expression to learn so was truly fantastic!

What do you think about this summer look lovelies?

Rainbow Sandals – Baby Pink Sandals
Toy Food Heel Sandals – Blue Metallic Sandals
Baby Pink Sandals – Metallic Pink Sandals
Baby Blue Sandals – Hot Pink Sandals

Chunky Sandals – the nightmare of most girls during the nineties – are back! This time they come with cool platform heels. Their look is truly edgy, incredibly comfortable without missing the effect of giving you a little bit of extra height. Ugly shoes are the new beauties and really need to find a place in your shoe cabinet!

The Birkenstock sandals are back as well, but I still can’t warm up my heart for them (Sorry mum, I know you love to wear them as house shoes. Maybe you are just more trendy than I am…). Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been spotted already giving in to 90s nostalgia and wearing Birkenstocks and they drop into all the cool shops right now. I would strongly recommend to not go for them, but for a pair of platform heeled styles. I think they have a more modern touch. But never forget: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I already own several pairs of heeled Juju sandals (the baby blue one on the left) and can confirm that they are the best shoes in the world and I don’t go on a city trip without them.
What do you think about chunky sandals and did you fall in love with a pair from my selection?
Pom Pom shoe: Irregular Choice,  Black Boot with Triangle Cutout Heel: Jennifer Chou,
Shoe with Roses: Chinese Laundry, Purple Platform shoes: Black Milk, Jelly Pumps with Hearts: Mel by Melissa, Glitter Heel Shoe: Jeffrey Campbell
I didn’t miss that winter has arrived, but let me tell you something: I think buying (proper) winter shoes is not much fun. Most of the times the shoes you can wear on icy streets are heavy, big and look not like much fun. Therefore I rather have my eyes on pretty high heels. Spending money on beauties like those, makes me happy and this is reason enough to say the money is well invested.
Here I show you my personal selection of shoes I am in love with at the moment. All of them have something very special: They are either decorated in a cool way, have a special heel or a cool fabric.
I think the Jeffery Campbell boot with the transparent heel filled with glitter, would be the perfect shoe for the festive season. It must look beautiful when the glitter sparkles and moves while walking. Almost like a snow globe. The Mel by Melissa shoe with the hearts is already a classic since the peep toe version from Vivienne Westwood for Melissa and I think it can’t be missed on the shoe shelf. But I wouldn’t mind at all having them all.

What do you think about these shoes, which would you love to wear?
Necklace: Tatty Devine, Clutch: Santi at Shopbop, Shoes: Unif at Dolls Kill, Sunglasses: Nasty Gal,
Jumper: Truffle Shuffle, Skirt: Cédric Charlier at Avenue 32, Bracelet: Kirsty Ward at Bengt, Tights: Romwe

I am obsessed with colours more than ever before and this style is proof. On other blogs, you will find a post like this as a mood board about colourful fashion, I say: Why not wear all these pieces together, just the way I show them? At least I would love to and declare this outfit to one of my dream outfits! I want ponies, I want rainbows, glitter and never forget about the pompoms!

I remember brushing the hair of my Little Ponies when I was a child, I loved their pastel coloured manes. I think the first ponies have been made when I was born or maybe a little bit earlier and so they were about the first toys I can remember too. Wearing them on a jumper would bring up a lot of nostalgia. I am sure the ponies would love the pompom clutch and the colourful accessories as much as I do.

What do you think about this outfit, would you wear it or just pick out one piece for yourself?

Imagine this stone came from a planet far, far away, where the whole surface is blue and shiny.

Sweet, sweet confusion! Today I am tricking your eyes with a psychodelic all over print and a handbag that is almost too good to be true. This outfit is a declaration of love to Asian fashion: The dress comes from Thailand/London based label Lalalove (Yes, I couldn’t resist to buy it after I told you about it) and the bag from Taiwanese label JumpFromPaper. I love the creativity and playful quirkiness Asian designers often display in their work. If I find a new label from this part of the world that satisfies my urge to be a walking rainbow, I always get very excited and feel like a little fashion explorer.

JumpFromPaper wasn’t actually found by me, but rather I was found by them. When they contacted me, I couldn’t believe I didn’t hear about them before, because my style is literally made to fit these bags. I already wrote a post about the label here if you are interested to learn more about them.
When my very own JumpFromPaper bag arrived, I instantly felt that we were gonna be very close friends. The quality of the bag is excellent and it’s super flat. There is a zipper at the bottom of the bag and when it’s open the bag gets a lot more roomy. Enough space for the things I carry around in my everyday routine is provided.
The bag gets a lot of looks and compliments. Isn’t it a wonderful achievement for a bag to make people smile? This makes my flamingo heart beat faster for sure.
What do you think about this outfit and are you amazed by Asian labels too?

Today it’s time for a lot of pink – fifty shades of pink.
Not just flamingos have pink wings, but my backpack too.
Isn’t this the sweetest colour ever for a name necklace?
Mister flamingo thinks so too and nods.
Gosh, I feel like in a world full of candy floss.
Everything is bright, sparkling and cute.
This is probably the only backpack I will ever consider as absolutely stunning.
A barbie dream come true with the cutest wings.
This shoes are described as “Hipster mermaid shoes”, I agree and love them.

Whenever I travel by bus or train, I spot many copies of the book “Fifty Shades of Gray”. I haven’t read it and I certainly never will, but every time I read the title it makes me a little bit sad. I imagine all this shades of gray next to each other and think, how much more beautiful fifty shades of any other colour would be. Fifty shades of gray sounds like a lot of boredom to me and like the complete absence of every excitement. When I put on today’s outfit with all it’s shades of pink, the title “Fifty Shades of Pink” popped into my mind immediately. Don’t you agree this is far more fun than gray? Pink and orange is a combination I didn’t try very often before, but I like how they enhance and contrast each other.

I am in love with every piece I wear and hope you see it in the pictures. What on earth can beat holographic shoes, a winged backpack and a flamingo bodysuit together in one outfit? My look is inspired by the creative outfits of the girls in Harajuku. I think especially the shoes and backpack express the cuteness of this kind of style very well. The first time I saw this backpack was on a Tokyo style blog and since then I couldn’t stop thinking about it, till I could call it my own.

From now on I wear my name around my neck. This name necklace was a very sweet unexpected gift from Sugar & Vice and since it arrived I don’t know how I could have been without it. I love the colour of the perspex and maybe with this people will finally understand that my name is spelled without an “h” at the end. If it doesn’t work, I don’t mind if people just remember me as the pink candy floss girl instead. Now you have to excuse me, I need to spread my wings and discover a few fluffy clouds.

What do you think about this outfit my lovely readers?

And of course frilled socks and high heels to make the legs pretty.

It’s said that the sphinx speaks in riddles. I don’t know. During all my visits to Egypt, she didn’t say a word, but always impressed me with her majestic appearance. I love to be in Gizeh, to walk around the pyramids and spend hours there. All the tourists who travel in groups have a tight time table and hurry from pyramid to museum to bus and so on, I love to linger in the presence of the sphinx. When I think of Egypt, I always feel the longing to go there again, it’s not just a travel destination for me, but I truly fell in love with this country it’s history and people. While I am far away, I am happy to have at least a  little bit of Egyptian inspiration in my outfit with my bodysuit from Bambam. Isn’t it gorgeous? I instantly felt happy, after putting it on for the first time, I listened to the song at the bottom of this post and just wanted to dance like an Egyptian.

If you say one thing about the Pharaohs, say that they love jewellery and shiny things. Because of this, I thought it appropriate to combine my bodysuit with a metallic skirt from Missguided. It’s so shiny, King Tut might be jealous if he could see it. It’s available in a few other colours as well and I have the mad plan to get them all.

What do you think about this look, does it make you dance like an Egyptian?

Let’s walk through the streets of London!

Back from my trip to London I still feel the energetic spirit of this city. I already have secret plans to go there again soon. In the meanwhile, all the little London-things in our flat and in my wardrobe must be enough to brighten my mind.

My whole outfit is very much inspired by London. I bought most of the things I wear on my last trip there. Maybe you already spotted them on my post “A Suitcase full of London”. Just the good austrian socks and my funny lipstick ring are no british treasures.

I think the biggest eye-catcher are the Tatty Devine Eyelash Glasses. Tatty Devine is one of the very few companies I have a close bonding to. I already have a collection of their jewellery and I love to visit their shop at Brick Lane whenever I’m close.

My perfect Sunday in London is to visit the flower market at Columbia Road, have lovely breakfast there and walk towards Brick Lane and the Tatty Devine shop. This time I bought no necklaces, but I was in love at first sight with this glasses. After trying them on I couldn’t leave without them without a broken heart. I think they are just made to go with a sharp and defined haircut as mine. This glasses are very fancy and quirky, exactly what I love. A lot of people ask me about them while I’m wearing them and many take out their camera for taking a picture.

Please, please, let me never break them, I already imagine me with 90, as an extravagant old lady, walking along the Thames and still wearing them from time to time. Maybe they would take my picture then for the Advanced Style blog. I would be very proud and tell them that they keep my powerful London spirit alive.
